We recently worked with Family F.I.R.M to facilitate family time for the four children we are currently caring for, and I can honestly say the experience has been outstanding from start to finish. Charlotte, the family time worker, took the time to meet with us beforehand and get to know the children individually. Her thoughtful approach ensured that the sessions were as smooth, supportive, and child-focused as possible.

Charlotte organised the first session in a community park, carefully chosen to meet everyone’s needs – the children, their parents, and us as foster carers. The location was ideal: safe, well-equipped with toilet facilities, nearby parking, and places to get food and drinks. The park itself offered plenty to keep the children engaged – from open green spaces to a fun and accessible play area – creating a relaxed and natural environment for family time to take place.

Throughout the process, Charlotte was an absolute pleasure to work with – approachable, organised, and clearly committed to the wellbeing of the children. She remained sensitive to everyone’s emotional needs and made sure we felt informed and supported at all times. Nothing felt rushed or overlooked.

The team also made thoughtful adjustments to the family time locations along the way, selecting different parks to keep the environment stimulating and enjoyable for the children. This attention to detail really highlighted their child-centred approach and understanding of how to make family time a positive experience.
